Year Four

Mrs Martin

Welcome to Year Four

Welcome to Mrs Martin’s Year 4 class.

Our motto this year will be – work hard – play hard!

In English, we will be trying hard to become even more independent and fluent with our reading skills. We will use these skills for both enjoyment and to research a range of fiction and non-fiction materials. We will be taking great care with our punctuation and handwriting skills, to become even more talented and imaginative writers.

In Mathematics, we intend to become more efficient with our calculating skills and will apply these skills to problem solving activities. We hope to have lots of fun, whilst becoming skilled mathematicians! This year, will be trying hard to learn all our times table facts up to 12 x 12.

Whilst learning about the world around us in our Science lessons, we will be developing important scientific skills observing, recording and explaining ideas and models, using scientific vocabulary.

All the children in Year 4 are as excited as I am to be beginning the new school year.  We hope to grow in maturity and grow spiritually throughout the year. We will always give our best effort to everything we do and look forward to becoming the best we can be!

Homework will be given every Friday – and is to be returned on the following Wednesday.

We will have PE lessons on Tuesday and Thursday.

Many thanks,

Mrs Martin.
