Year Three

Mr Gribbin

Welcome to Year 3!

We are all looking forward to the year ahead and are ready to tackle every challenge we face head on.   This term (Autumn) we will be traveling back in time to discover all things Stone Age.

In English, we will be reading the book Stig of the Dump and using descriptions of setting and character to help us write our own adventure stories.  We will continue to practise our handwriting to make sure we earn our pen licence.

In Maths, we will be building on what we learnt in Year 2, with focus this term (Autumn) on place value.

Homework will be sent home on a Friday and is to be returned the following Wednesday.  Our PE days this term are Tuesday and Friday, so please make sure your child has their kit with them on these days.

The step-up from KS1 to KS2 will not be easy, but with hard work and perseverance, we’ll make sure we help each other to  learn in a fun and friendly way.
