Attendance and Absence
At the end of each half term, every child’s attendance is analysed and letters will be sent home to parents of any child whose attendance is a concern. The letter will either inform parents/carers that it will be monitored closely over the following half term or parents/carers will be invited in for a meeting with the headteacher. If a child’s attendance continues to be of concern then the matter will be referred to the Education Welfare Officer (EWO).

Unauthorised leave of absence during term time
Amendments to The Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006 make it clear that Head Teachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances and that Head Teachers should determine the number of days a child can be away from school if the leave is granted. If a child has taken an unauthorised leave of absence during term time, the matter may be referred to the Local Authority to request a Penalty Notice be issued against you.
The Penalty Notice is £60 per parent, per child if paid within 21 days and £120 per parent, per child if paid after this date but within 28 days.
