We have had such a fun week in Nursery celebrating Chinese New Year! We were picking up noodles with chopsticks in the tuff tray and the play dough was yellow and red with lots of sparkly objects to add. Lots of us practiced our cutting skills by making dragon masks and we painted and made models of dragons too. Everyone made a Chinese lantern so that we could decorate our classroom. As our topic this half term is ‘Food, Glorious Food’, we tried some Chinese food. There were noodles, egg fried rice, spring rolls, sweet chili sauce and prawn crackers. The prawn crackers were everybody’s favourite! As it is traditional for children to receive lucky red envelopes at Chinese New Year, everyone in our class got one to take home with them (with chocolate coins instead of real money!).
