What should have been a trip to the beach, turned out into a slightly different day. We were all ready with our buckets and spades and swimming costumes but the weather had other ideas! Due to the torrential rain we took a detour into Newcastle and visited the Great North Museum instead.
It turned out to be a fantastic day and we learnt so much! When we arrived we were split into groups and went on a scavenger hunt. We had to search for the items on a sheet and tick them off once we had found them We then had to work in pairs and find out one interesting piece of information from the artifacts displayed at the museum.
There was so much to see. We particularly enjoyed seeing the Roman artifacts which reminded us of our Roman topic and fossils and rocks from our science topic.
Although we didn’t make it to the beach, we thoroughly enjoyed the day (and we kept dry).
