A few weeks ago we had a special arrival in Year 2.
We were given 5 caterpillars to look after. At first they were so small we had to use a magnifying glass to see them! It didn’t take long for them to grow, and each day they got bigger and bigger. They had lots of healthy nutrition to ensure they would grow. Soon they went into their chrysalis to start the process of turning into a butterfly. Each morning we would come in to school and there would be more. We had to make sure we looked after them properly by giving them fruit and sugary water.
Eventually we had to set them free outside. We really enjoyed looking after them. Although we were sad to let them go, it was nice to see them fly away and be free.
